KMG has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant at its Fort Worth corporate office. This position will be directly responsible for assisting and supporting the accounting department in the preparation of monthly financial statements. This includes, but not limited to, performing the posting of journal entries and reconciling financial statement accounts. This position is located at KMG Chemicals, Inc. - Fort Worth Corporate Office on 300 Throckmorton St., Fort Worth, TX 76102 (located in Sundance Square).

Education, Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in accounting or other related program is required. Active CPA license or working towards certification is preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of five years’ experience is required. Experience working with SAP is highly preferred.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience with financial (SAP) and accounting reporting systems (BPC or Hyperion) is highly preferred.
  • International accounting experience is helpful.
  • SOX and internal controls experience is helpful.
  • An excellent knowledge of US GAAP is preferred.

Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for general ledger and financial accounting transactional analysis.
  • Performs timely and accurate month-end close journal entries for multiple entities.
  • Performs monthly allocations of corporate insurance and employee benefits expenses.
  • Responsible for monthly account reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts.
  • Maintains file of monthly foreign currency exchange rates.
  • Assists with monthly reviews of financial results on a global basis.
  • Assists in the preparation of schedules for annual audits and quarterly reviews.
  • Performs accounting research and analysis as required.
  • Documents processes and controls for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance purposes.
  • Supports month end and year end closing.
  • Prepares and distributes various ad hoc reports.
  • Participates in other projects as required.
