We purchase Creosote from domestic and international suppliers and are positioned as the single-largest source of Creosote for the U.S. wood treating market. We are proud of our role in providing a ready and reliable source of Creosote supply in the U.S.

We store creosote in bulk storage tanks along the Mississippi River near New Orleans at Avondale, Louisiana and near Savannah, Georgia. We lease a fleet of approximately 120 tank railcars for the distribution of Creosote to wood treaters throughout the U.S.

Pentachlorophenol

KMG-Bernuth is the only manufacturer of Penta in North America. Our Penta products include Penta blocks and solutions. KMG de Mexico, our subsidiary in Mexico, manufactures technical Penta and also produces and sells hydrochloric acid, which is a byproduct of the Penta manufacturing process.

At our facility in Matamoros, Mexico, we manufacture solid Penta blocks, which we sell to our wood treating customers, or make it into a liquid solution of Penta concentrate at our Matamoros, Mexico facility and at our formulation facility in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
